We partner with Generations United and its Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network: A National Technical Assistance Center to share information, opportunities, and resources with African American Grandfamilies and those who work with them.

The Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network (Network) is the first-ever national technical assistance center on grandfamilies and kinship families. The Network exists, free of charge, to offer a new way for government agencies and nonprofit organizations in states, tribes, and territories to collaborate and work across jurisdictional and systemic boundaries – all to improve supports and services for grandfamilies and kinship families now and into the future. NCBA has a long history of supporting older adults of color who face challenges that not only affect their lives, but also their families. With a growing number of grandparents raising their grandchildren, the traditional family structure requires adaptations befitting the age and sensibilities of multiple generations. We are honored to partner with Generations United and the Grandfamilies and Kinship Support Network to enhance our outreach to grandparents of color.

–Karyne Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer, NCBA

The Network is supported by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $9,950,000 with 95 percentage funded by ACL/HHS and $523,684 and 5 percentage funded by non-government sources.
